Managing secrets on Arkindex

This feature is only available for Enterprise Edition customers.

This page will guide you through managing secrets on an Arkindex instance.

Listing all secrets

Log in to Arkindex as an administrator.
From the top-right menu, click Secrets.

You will see a list of all the secrets to which you have guest access.

Creating a new secret

By clicking on the CREATE button at the top right of this page, you will be prompted to fill the name and content of a new secret.

You automatically have an admin access to the secrets you created, so you can share them with other users or groups if you wish.

Displaying the contents of a secret

Once you click on the name of a secret, you will be redirected to its details. The content of a secret is always hidden by default, but if you have contributor access you can show its content by clicking on the REVEAL button.

Editing a secret

Secrets are not immutable and can be changed, making it easier to rename them or change them. You need a contributor access in order to change both attributes.

Editing the name of a secret

From the details page, you can click on the pen icon next to the secret’s name at the top in order to update its name. Once the new value is correct, you can save the value by clicking on the pen icon once again.

Editing the contents of a secret

From the details page, you can click on the EDIT button in order to update its contents. Once you clicked, the actual content is revealed and you can make changes. Once the new contents is correct, you can save the value by clicking on the SAVE button.

Deleting a secret

Arkindex does not display which workers depend on which secret. Deleting a secret can cause related workers to cease functioning.

To delete a secret, you can click on the red button with a trash icon. A prompt will be displayed to confirm the deletion.
